Position Overview

As a member of the Mobile Maintenance Team, the Team leader will report to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent and will work on site at the Ekati mine site on a 2 week on and 2 week off rotation. The Team Lead will work with the planning and reliability group to ensure that Scheduled and Break in Maintenance is performed with a high regard for safety and efficiency, to ensure operational targets are met.

 Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ensure the highest standard of safety in the workplace;
  • Ensure compliance to safety, housekeeping and maintenance practices in all areas;
  • Effectively lead and motivate participation in daily pre job safe shift meetings and monthly safety meetings;
  • Effectively utilize and oversee the SAP Maintenance Process from work identification, to execution and final completion;
  • Participate in the development of long term maintenance plans;
  • Work to ensure the adherence to Work Management KPI’s;
  • Communicate Maintenance variances that Impact the Mine Plan;
  • Manage and approve development of new and the modifications of existing work instructions and parts list updates;
  • Initiate and maintain open and effective dialogue with all mine site departments;
  • Monitor and control the designated number of pieces of active equipment as required by the mine plan;
  • Monitor equipment Condition Monitoring, Performance Testing and Failure Analysis reports for Urgent and Immediate work and ensure appropriate action initiated when required;
  • Determine criticality of failures and decide on the necessary response;
  • Ensure the completion of performance reviews for all direct reports;
  • Ensure compliance to regulatory authorities and Manage Department Training requirement;
  • Always protect the safety and well-being of yourself and your co-workers. Follow all Company specific safety protocols and Occupational Health & Safety policies and procedures.

 Education/Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience, preferably in a mining or industrial environment.
  • Journeyperson certificate in a relevant field;
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent;
  • Knowledge of and commitment to Reliability Based Maintenance;
  • Results oriented individual with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and timelines;
  • Experience and knowledge concerning Work Breakdown Structure and Critical Path Management;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Working knowledge of SAP and basic computer literacy with willingness to learn new computer skills.

Additional Information

 The Company provides travel to and from the Ekati mine site out of Calgary, Yellowknife, and other northern fly points.
